In a world full of inventions, for a sauna-lover like us Finns one was missing: S-Bar™, a built-in cooler and drink dispenser that keeps beverages cold in the most extreme conditions without a power source.
While sitting in a sauna (of course), a friend came up with a challenge to entertain my inventor tendencies: “Can you build with a device that keeps our beers cold and also looks good in a freshly built, custom-designed sauna?”.
So I embarked on a journey to engineer a solution that’s elegant, doesn’t take up much space, and allows beverages to maintain their cool temperature in the unique environment of a sauna.
Little did my friend know that his casual question would end up taking me multiple years and endless sheets of drafting paper. But I had a reputation to uphold, and after entertaining several ideas the first prototype manifested itself. From there, with persistent development work testing and finetuning the technology, I finally achieved my goal!
As the product was refined, its complexity reduced and industrial manufacturability improved, I found the invention generating commercial interest amongst a much wider audience than I ever expected. What started as a friendly challenge had given birth to something much more: a unique product that’s profitable to produce and fits many applications way beyond the sauna culture.
